About Dnoodle and the beginnings of creating the Best Boat Cup Holder and its evolution since then…
At Dnoodle, we create comfort and convenience, especially in designing the best boat cup holder to secure your drink on the go. Founded by Scott and Kristy, an innovative Australian couple from Central Queensland near Yeppoon, Dnoodle began with a simple yet frustrating moment. During a 2019 trip to Great Keppel Island, they struggled to secure a Yeti insulated cup to a floatie. That challenge sparked an idea for a smarter solution—one that eliminates spills, prevents damage, and keeps expensive cups safe.
Kristy, a professional chef with international experience and a strong sales background, played a key role in launching Dnoodle. Her determination grew stronger during her battle with stage 3 breast cancer. After receiving an all-clear diagnosis in 2022, she and Scott pursued their vision with renewed energy, officially launching Dnoodle in 2024.
Scott, an industrial designer and boat builder, applied his expertise to develop Dnoodle with a deep understanding of marine accessories. Most boat cup holders lack versatility, fail to prevent spills, and use materials that are hard to clean or install. Dnoodle solves these issues with a durable, user-friendly, and adaptable design for boats, SUPs, cars, offices, and beyond.

About Us and Getting it Right – Perfecting the TwistLatch
Creating the world’s best Separable Object Holder (Our patent description) took dedication and innovation.
A little about us…..Scott began his journey with a handmade prototype, crafted with passion and determination. With a clear vision, he tested multiple concepts, including Velcro, elastic straps, mechanical fixtures, and neodymium magnets. Yet, none fully met his expectations. Determined to succeed, he teamed up with top scientists and engineers in the U.S. to bring his idea to life.
Using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing, Scott refined Dnoodle’s design, drawing inspiration from a flower in nature. He tested over 65 prototypes to perfect the concept, tolerances, and manufacturing process. One major challenge was eliminating the magnetic “snap,” which caused foaming drinks, pinched fingers, and sudden jerks. At the same time, the design had to remain safe for electronics and resist corrosion in harsh marine environments.
After experimenting with 25 different magnetic configurations, Scott finally achieved the ideal “twist-to-release” E.A.M. (Engineered Aerospace Magnetics), allowing Dnoodle to function seamlessly. The result is a secure, user-friendly product that eliminates the risks associated with traditional magnetic fixtures. Today, Dnoodle is patent-pending, design-registered, and a registered trademark—a testament to its innovative design and functionality.
The name Dnoodle® reflects its origins, blending “Drink” and “Noodle” as a nod to the original floatie concept that inspired it all back in 2019 (coming soon). Throughout its creation, Dnoodle has engaged talents from over 16 nationalities, and we proudly say it was “Made on Earth by Earthlings.” This global collaboration has been instrumental in bringing Dnoodle to life, and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of them.
